Bible Examples
Jesus lived a sinless life
(2 Cor 5:21),
was crucified, buried and arose on the third day. One of several accounts of this is recorded in Matthew 26-28. Just before he ascended into Heaven to sit at the
right hand of God
(Mark 16:19),
he gave the apostles instructions to spread the good news of Eternal Life
(Mark 16:15-16).
A short time later, the Apostle Peter was preaching the first gospel message to those very same people who had taken part in killing Jesus Christ. Upon seeing
the proof of his resurrection by the attesting miracles of the Apostles, and hearing the message that, indeed Jesus Christ, whom they crucified, is the Messiah,
the Son of God they asked, "Brethren, what shall we do?" Read Peter's reply in
(Acts 2:38).
They believed...they obeyed...3000 of them that day
(Acts 2:41).
There are other examples of those who loved God and wanted to do his will in the New Testament. They are written in the
early history of the Church which is recorded in the book of Acts. The Samaritans in Acts 8:5-12, the Ethiopian Nobleman in Acts 8:26-39,
or the Phillipian Jailer in Act 16:25-34 are all examples where people were convicted by the Holy Spirit when they heard the word of
God. Upon their faith that Jesus is Son of God, they repented of their sins, confessed their faith and were baptized for the remission of
their sins. That is how one entered the Kingdom then, and it is how we enter the Kingdom now
(Colossians 1:13).
It is through our obedience to the Gospel that we can
call on His name.
