There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.
Ephesians 4:4-6
What does Un-denominational mean?

The church of the first century that we read about in the New Testament was beyond-all-doubt, un-denominational. Many have worshiped with congregations that describe themselves as being non-denominational because they welcome and adhere to many faiths. Conversely, the church in the New Testament had only one faith (Eph 4:4-6). Now this seems like a rather curt and harsh thing to say, but let's look to the word of God.
In 1 Cor 1:10-13 Paul was very upset with the Christians in Corinth because they had divisions among them. They were making claims that they were "of Paul and Apollos and Peter", etc. He asks the rhetorical questions,
"Is Christ divided?"
"Was Paul crucified for you?"
"Were you baptized in my name?"
Of couse, the answer is "no"! But are we guilty of the same thing?
Was Martin Luther crucified for you?
Were you baptized in the name of John Wesley?
St. John?... St. Mary?...John Calvin?
1970+ years later, the answer is still, "NO". So why are we saying, "I'm a protestant, I'm a Catholic, I'm Baptist, I'm Church of Christ, I'm Fundimentalist"?
Has Christ been divided?
Did Jesus purchase the church with his blood (Acts 20:28) so we can put our names on it? The prophet Isaiah promised that God's people would be given a new name
(Is 62:2). That new name is in Acts 11:26. If we are of Christ, we are Christians,
not __Christians,
but only Christians - the saved of Christ, the called out of Christ, the church of Christ. The chuch that Jesus built in 33AD was un-denominational. He promised it would last forever in Matt. 16:18b, so did Daniel in Dan. 2:44.

Why not be a member of that church?
