The Way

There seems to be a great value placed upon "broad-mindedness". No one would ever want to be known as a narrow-minded person, yet we do not see that there are dangers in "broad-mindedness". We have a word to describe those who have a much broader interpretation of our cival laws than our Judges. We call them criminals, and we find our prisons full of those who do not agree with the narrowminded views of our laws. These broad-minded individuals did not fully realize the consequences of going beyond the boundries of our laws until their Judgement Day.
Is our thinking more broadminded than that of our Judge (Acts 17:31)? Consider the narrow views of our Judge. Jesus speaks about a narrow way (Matthew 7:13-14). We will all stand before this Judge (Rom 14:10b). There will be no apeals (John 5:22). The standards by which we will be judged are already in place (John 12:48).

But God loves us (1 John 4:10), and he loves us to the degree that he would send his only Son (John 3:16). This was in his plan to provide us eternal life (Titus 1:2) through our obedience to him (John 3:36).

There is a way of eternal life. If we look into the New Testament, we can see examples of those who obeyed Jesus Christ. If we believe in that same Jesus, and obey that same Gospel, we can have eternal life too. Let's consider those examples.
